3D Printing

Prototyping provides MEDIC with early product evaluation. 3D printed plastic parts produced using our Projet HD 3500plus printer are tough enough to be used as working parts for testing form, fit and function.

Rapid prototyping provides MEDIC with precision, durable plastic parts ideal for functional testing, design communication, rapid manufacturing, rapid tooling and more.

The 3D printed plastic parts are produced using our Projet HD 3500plus printer.  The system prints a jetted photo-polymer and is an additive process that combines the techniques used in Ink-jet Printing and Stereo-lithography. The method of building each layer is similar to Ink-jet Printing, in that it uses an array of ink-jet print heads to deposit tiny drops of build material and support material to form each layer of a part. However, as in Stereo-lithography, the build material is a liquid acrylate-based photo-polymer that is cured by a UV lamp after each layer is deposited. For this reason, Jetted Photo-polymer is sometimes referred to as Photo-polymer Ink-jet Printing.

The advantages of the system are incredible tolerances and resolution, excellent accuracy and surface finish, sharper edges and cleaner lines which means better, more accurate parts for you.

Tensile and Torsion testing. Zwick.

Utilising MEDIC's Zwicki-Line with torsion drive tensile Pulling machine it is possible to run both uniaxial and biaxial tests (tensile or compression combined with torsion) on materials and components.

 

 

This combination, in which both test axes can be synchronized via the testXpert® testing software, enables torsion tests from 2 to 20 Nm.

Anatomical Modeling. CT, MRI, MICRO CT, CBCT

MEDIC can access various network sources for 3D medical images of various anatomical areas.

 

MEDIC can access various network sources for 3D medical images of various anatomical areas.  The segmented data of these 3D medical images coming form CT, MRI, microCT, CBCT, Ultrasound, Confocal Microscopy can be post processed within the specially developed software Mimics.  The result will be highly accurate 3D models of the desired anatomy. These 3D accurate anatomical models can be used for a variety of engineering applications such as:

 

• Accurately measure in 2D and 3D

• Export 3D models in STL format for 3D Printing

• Export 3D models to software for Finite Element Analysis or Computational Fluid Dynamics

• Creation of anatomically accurate bench-top test rigs for product verification testing.
